The Historical Truxtun Civic League was formed in July of 2005.Our mission is to create and maintain an environment that is safe, clean, and attractive ,.while preserving our rich and unique history and restoring the pride in the community
Our team is made up of compassionate and dedicated individuals who are committed to helping those in our community. We have a diverse group of professionals who bring a variety of skills and experiences to our organization.
Truxtun Officially known as U.S. Housing Project number 150 c was the first and only development build for African-American workers in the United States in 1919. The designing was done by Rossel Edward Mitchell of Norfolk Virginia. The Town then called Truxtun Va. comprised 250 five room houses the build on 28x100 lots for single homes

Only 26 double houses were build.in In 1919 Thomas Tucker was the unofficial Mayor of the Township
