Truxtun Officially known as U.S. Housing Project number 150 c was the first and only development build for African-American workers in the United States in 1919. The designing was done by Rossel Edward Mitchell of Norfolk Virginia. The Town then called Truxtun Va. comprised 250 five room houses the build on 28x100 lots for single homes

The Town then called Truxtun Va. comprised 250 five room houses the build on 28x100 lots for single homes and 40x100 for the two family type. Only 26 double houses were build.in In 1919 Thomas Tucker was the unofficial Mayor of the Township
